The Resources Folder
Top  Previous  Next

Every project has a Resources folder. You can set a Resources folder name inside a Project Folder in the Path Tab on the «Create New Project» dialog or any time later in the Path Tab on the Settings dialog.

The Resources folder acts as a central storage location for all of the internal files that you add to your project.

When you add an external file to your project Autorun Magick Studio will copy the file into the Resources folder, and then access the file from there, if the «Copy to resources folder» option in the Path Tab on the Settings
dialog is enabled (Auto-coping mode):

Auto-coping mode helps make the project more reliable, because the project doesn't have to rely on the original files that may be scattered all over your hard drive. Even if the original file is moved, modified, or deleted, the project will still have its own copy of the file, unmodified and intact.

And, since all of the internal files that your project needs are located in the Resources folder, you can easily move your project to another computer, just by moving the project folder. (The Resources folder is stored in your project folder, so when you move the project folder, you're moving the Resources folder as well.)

If the «Ask» option in the Path Tab on the Settings
dialog is enabled AutorunMagick Studio will offer you to copy external file into Resources folder. You will see «copy» dialog:

To copy this file in to another folder inside the Project Folder press the () button.

Press the «Yes» button to copy the file into Resources folder and then access the file from there..
Press the «No» button to access the original file.
Press the «Cancel» button to interrupt the action.

If the «Don't copy» option in the Path Tab on the Settings dialog is enabled AutorunMagick Studio will access the original file, if the option(3) is enabled.
